I am Dr Lauren Alex O'Hagan, otherwise known as the Inscription Detective. For the past eight years, I have collected thousands of Edwardian inscriptions and painstakingly traced the stories of each inscriber, from servants and miners to clerks and shopkeepers through to doctors, lawyers and gentlemen.
